"Let Them Hear"
2021
It is interesting how things really only exist in a certain moment. Much of this was written ten years ago, and if it had been recorded around that time it would have been different. Is it better now? Hard to say, it reflects present day me. But I know ten years ago I would have not taken some of these songs in the same direction. It has me relecting on art as a companion to time. I used to think of movies and music as being somehow timeless, but that is not true. Further from its time art begin to make less sense.
This one began as a mad punk album but ended up being something else.
"Rhythm & Boom (single)"
April 1 2021
I don't really do singles. But I am still tweaking this album. So I figured why not start putting out the ones that are done. So here goes, singles.
The first song off the upcoming 2021 album. This one goes back a long time. Its history was very similar to that of SMAX from Show Your Blood. I started writing this on an old Amiga tracker I used to have. I thought it would sound cool played with real instruments. But deciding on what shape it should take seemed elusive for some reason. Like pinocchio it had to live a little before it could become a real song.
It is pretty driving. And, actually too bad this didn't take shape back when we were playing live. This would've been cool live. Maybe some day... well no the world's going to hell and it ain't coming back. Oh well, hope you like it.
"Wreathe the 2nd"
2019
In 2017 there was some movement to record a long neglected follow-up to Show Your Blood. Sadly with the death of long-time collaborator Chad Baker that project stalled and instead I finished up and recorded a collection of songs I had that suited the mood of the moment. Most of these songs were very old but for whatever reason, were just neglected and never used when the band was active. For example Whiteout was a noodle I used just to warm-up. Still Dancing was played the first time I ever performed but largely forgot about after. Nu World I started writing long before the first Wreathe, Chad played on its first demo. Sunsets I started writing when Mike first started playing with the band. Although he does not play on it here the drum pattern is based on a 2008 rehearsal recording of him jamming to the song.
Scott returned to play on two of the tracks, Whiteout and Blood Of Roses.
The cover art is a photo I took of the eclipse of 2017 which occurred around the same time Chad died.

"A Time Of Madness"
2014 - original
2019 - Remix
Most of this was recorded in 2008 and part of an early demo collection called Part 2. Later they were repurposed into this soundtrack for a longform video that eventually came out in 2017. Originally titled "A Time Of Magick" it was changed later because any reference to magick never made it into the movie. It was remixed in 2019 and had Dream Away and A Rebel Song added. Escape was also extended to its original length.
Scott plays drums on 7 of the tracks. Mike is on drums for A Rebel Song.

"Show Your Blood"
2011 - original
2020 - Remix and expanded
This was our punk album. At the time we thought this was going to be the sound of the band and believed it was going to be the first of a series of albums in the same vein. That did not happen. But plans aside this is a fun collection from a hopeful time.
The 2020 remix made numerous improvements over the original. Really too many to even mention, but For Real is very different, Justin Gaundry added new solos to Dead Or Your Dying and Pure. Four tracks were added. Live Free Or Die, recorded in 2008, was briefly released in 2013 as a single. Bite Me When Its Over is from a recording of the last rehearsal of the SYB era band of Chad, Mike and Terry. Cleaning that up was really only possible thanks to recent improvements in technology, it was originally a very rough recording. Also there were some old jams with Scott that yielded some treasure. Freaking Out has not been heard since it was recorded. And the always charming Taking Shit which was briefly released on an early demo collection called Part 1.
Though after some listening the remix itself is currently getting a bit of a less muddy update that should be up in fall of 2021. I am always tinkering when I have time.
"Wreathe"
2009 - digital release
2019 - Remix
New remixed version 2019 - some edits and tweaks added as well. Breathe is slightly shorter and ROTK had some time editing and some new overdubs.
Our first album was a kind of punky folk album. Not a Christmas album at all despite the look of it. We considered making it one but forgot to record any actual Christmas carols. Though if the holiday is a depressing time for you then this could serve as a Christmas album.
